Chess Openings: Learn to Play the Vienna Game
There are many strong chess openings for white against e5 including the King’s Gambit, Danish Gambit, Giuoco Piano, Scotch Gambit, Scotch Gambit, Evan’s Gambit, Fried Liver Attack, Ponziani, Ruy Lopez, Italian Game, and more! However, in todays video, we will be covering the Vienna Game, one of the strongest chess openings ever developed. White plays Nc3, indirectly fighting for the center of the board, and looks to develop a Grand Prix attack against the enemy king while controlling the light squares. Chess strategy, chess moves, chess principles, chess tricks, chess tips, chess traps, and secret checkmate strategy are all extremely important in the Vienna Game, and we look to cover those in this chess opening video. Multiple chess grandmasters have used the Vienna Game and achieved great middlegame advantages because of it. We will cover the chess opening principles, chess opening strategy, and chess opening moves of the Vienna Game, and we hope that you enjoy it!

Top 10 Chess Openings for Black Against d4 PREMIERES AUGUST 2! Here is the link! https://youtu.be/XtFn7mXj-TI
Awesome video. I would love to see a part 2 based on 2…nc6
Another great video beautifully explained please keep up the good work.
Thank you for the video I really appreciate your work man Iβm learning a lot!
Thanks for sharing instructive video on the vienna game chess opening.
Very useful survey of the Vienna game with 3.g3. I used to think that this was a slow positional line, but this video shows it can be very aggressive and exciting. The fact that white can choose between flank attacks or central play gives the opening a lot of flexibility.
Appreciate this video, great content.
Very different video compared to GothamChess, nevertheless very interesting. Thx
Great video hard to find info on the g3 line thanks bro !! much appreciate :))
I usually played the Vienna gambit, but g3 looks so interesting as well. Great video.
Wow amazing video! Can we get the PGNs?
at the 0:50 mark of the video, after black plays 2. Nf6, would 3. f4 (immediate Vienna gambit) be a possibility? (rather than 3. g3)
I saw this after your Vienna Gambit. They both look fun and dynamic, yet, at the start, look tame. It an excellent force-meets-fraud deceiver. Thanks, Solomon.
Nice content. I usually play the viena gambit line, but this line can be very exciting.
woahhh BIG BRAIN!!
really i like the way he explains
Excelent !!!! I love this opening and this class was very intersting!! Thanks for that.Greetings from PerΓΊ πͺπΌπͺπΌππΌβοΈ
Much more in depth study of the vienna than any other video ive seen. Ill definitely be back for more.
Any lines I should study after black goes knight to C6 on move 3? I want to play bishop to C4 but that makes my pawn to G3 on move 3 look really stupid.
Really enjoying your tutorials. Thank you! You deserve far more subs!ππ»
I've just found your channel. It's great, thank you π
What on Earth are our Grand prix attack type fashion pieces up to? Vroom.
Excellent video. I've been playing 3. f4 or bishop c4, but I might start incorporating g6 into my play. Looks pretty nasty. Thanks!
Thanks Solomon, very interesting. I have a simple question: On move 1 what happens if the opponent plays D5? Do we just take it and get on with the opening as usual with the fianchetto and NGE2 line?
Hi, very nice and instructive. What line can go after 2…Bb4?
This opnening is very flexible. You can used this line against Sicilian Player..
at 16:32, what if black QxBc6?
this system is a bruh moment the whole time
What about 2. knight C6 instead of knight F6? Very common at my level ~1500
Is it still a Vienna game?
I think most prefer the Vienna Gambit after knight F6. I'm lacking a clear cut plan against knight C6.
For a long time I was baffled at what the point of b4 (at 3:13) driving the Bishop to b6 was. I just realized it simply gains space on the queenside. Duh!
What a wonderful vedeo on the Vienna Game…
Could you do a video on the Vienna Stanley variation sometime please. It is a really common variation, which hasn't been covered much!
can you explain in short what the whole idea is?
