  1. You are appreciated for your beautiful explanation!

  2. The position at 10:04 with opposite color bishops… looks winning for white… like Ba3… and then b4 to make a passed pawn… I think I could win that… if en passant then the move c4 becomes a passed pawn as well.

  3. The horse, Bishop and King vs King endgame is challenging to learn, took me hours to consistently win that position

  4. Amazing information! I canโ€™t believe itโ€™s free! Thank you! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿปโค๏ธ

  5. At 5:30, what if knight goes to f4, d5, then c7, forcing a check and then captures the queen?

  6. Thorben Kronprinz zu GroรŸ Midlum says:

Nice video! Very informative. But you have to learn how to pronounce Zugzwang ๐Ÿ˜„

  7. I played out the position where you used to the rook to cut off the king, then theoretically march the king and pawn up forcing a sacrifice. But couldnโ€™t black just endlessly check the king anytime it comes up alongside the pawn to support its advance? I got stuck just going around the pawnโ€ฆbut I also donโ€™t think it be 3-fold repโ€ฆam I missing something here?

  8. the best ever series about chess prinicples from different stages!!! respect!

  9. excellent videos. Can you do a playlist of the pirc and king's indian defence and king's indian attack?

  10. These vids rock man. suuuper easy to follow and informative. thnx for what u do

  11. A freaking chess cheat sheet? New player here, your content is above and beyond.

  12. it's not worth the time to learn a bishop and knight checkmate. you're better off practicing pawn or pawn and rook endgames which are far more common

  13. Your videos are perfect ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป

  14. When put to you Zugswang really sucks wang.

  15. Well he want to say your knight is just fucked up when it comes to end game

  16. Donโ€™t move your bishop like rooks๐Ÿ˜Š

  17. Ty this helped me gonna go through description videos for step by step too

  18. dont like the bishop suggestion, you make it more complicated than it has to be, just first take king out of center and then just push king back, you dont have to think about v-shapes, dont get me wrong it does work but very bad for beginner. It just takes too long and you risk lose because of 50 rule and also if king escapes you have to start over this v-shape and you will not be in time for 50 move. Actually easiest in this case is just to check endgame database and do it like that. Its way more easy to remember and its actually quite intuative.

  19. Muffin Ch. ใ‚ขใ‚ฐใƒชใƒใ‚นใ‚ฟใƒผใƒ‰ says:

On that last one, if you're playing against someone lower rated, you can try to sack the knight to get the king to move.
Depends on whether or not your opponent really cares about the draw lol

  20. Moving the king to the center is a brilliant move, you avoid getting checkmated. I am gonna remember this.

  21. I will make my friends to watch your videos ๐Ÿ˜„

  22. i used to play chess when as a kid, without even knowing their names i memorized the rules. now at 18 its been a month i continued and i'm getting good at this real fast. your videos help alot

  23. Hey Great video man! thanks!
do you have something specifically on pawn structures in endgame how to play? different setups and situations how to deal with e.g. rook vs rook and few pawns

  24. in the beginning, win the game. Details in the description.

  25. Nice,,,๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

  26. 13:43 "Zugzwang" literally move-urge german word, the urge to need to make a move but there are only moves available that worsen your position

  27. I'm new to chess here so correct me if I'm wrong but Principle 23. with King G6, Pawn H6. A move with white Bishop to D5 would be checkmate as it prevents opponents King from moving? Thanks in advance

  28. You are explaining wrong example of zugzwang. This is not example of zugzwang

  29. 16:12 This means White can only win in a timed game if it has noticeably more time available, aka the pettiest form of winning possible in chess.

  30. 16:15 actually in this specific example knight cant gain tempo, and its not "something about how the knight moves"
its because black has to keep alterating between a black and white squares with his king,
at the same time the knight is only able to move from a black square to a white square and vice versa, this means that now matter how many times you repeat moves your knight will always be pointing at the white square when his king is standing on it.
however if the black king was ina different position where he needs to keep alternating between two squares of the same color, here the knight can waste a move to attack the black king and prevent it from alternating between the two squares

  31. You earned a sub. This was so valuable. Thanks

  32. Great overview of endgame principles ๐Ÿฅฐ

  33. just what I needed. I'm a competent enough player that I can almost always whittle my opponent down to operating with a king and 2 other pieces, usually a pawn and a backrow piece. But then no matter how far ahead I am I can never lock down the opponents king.

  34. Opposition is the most important thing in pawn endgames

  35. knights can't keep control of the same squares 2 moves in a row

  36. great summary. i like how you focus on principles. You should do a video on " what questions should you ask yourself in general and in what order"

  37. About the king vs queen endgame, the engine actually finds a way to mate faster than the knight trick can you show the fast method? Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ˜Œ

  38. This video explains clearly why bishops are worth 3.25

  39. Excellent video thank you. Not 100% sure you got principle 23 correct. If in starting position in that example can't bishop go up to left and block that back and forth king movement then push white king up

  40. People have ruined a good game

Literally having a name for every single move possible
    Its taken way to far

Why cant a couple blokes just sit down in a bar and play a game over a couple of beers
    This is ridiculous

  41. Good video, I knew most of these sadly but I play a good endgame for my level anyway so it doesnt matter much, yet.
